What We Do

Why AMP?

As a global, independent publisher, Andrews McMeel discovers and develops original content that is both profound and popular. We serve as stewards of creativity, actively seeking and curating the work of distinctive, diverse, and exceptional creators which we have the privilege and honor to share with the world.  One of the enduring characteristics of our company’s success is the ability to identify and amplify powerful voices that reflect and share the story of our times. We strive to empower our creators, engage readers, and unite audiences, communities, and cultures.

We are known for New York Times bestselling poetry and inspiration, cutting-edge comics and humor, interactive puzzles and activities, and enlightening and entertaining children’s books and series. Our publishing decisions and the authors we represent continue to evolve and are a reflection of what’s relevant in the world around us as well as who we are as a company. We value confidence, creativity, and collaboration, and employ these tenets with a goal to effect change, embrace new thinking, and orchestrate outcomes.

AMP offers the responsiveness and intimacy of an independent publisher along with the global reach achieved through our unique sales and distribution partnership with Simon & Schuster. Editorial, marketing, and production are headquartered at Andrews McMeel in Kansas City; Simon & Schuster is based in New York.
